Why teachers choose Looking Glass Adventures

Escape rooms give students a chance to learn by doing. During each game, students work together to search for clues, interpret information, recognize patterns, test ideas, and communicate under time pressure.

Our school visits encourage:

  • Teamwork and collaboration

  • Critical thinking and logical reasoning

  • Communication and active listening

  • Literacy and clue interpretation

  • Observation and attention to detail

  • Pattern recognition and spatial reasoning

  • Time management

  • Perseverance and creative problem solving

  • Positive group participation

Students do not need prior escape room experience. Our staff provide instructions before the game and support groups throughout the visit.

Educational value

Looking Glass Adventures experiences can support curriculum-adjacent learning in a practical and engaging way. Students use reading, reasoning, communication, and teamwork skills to solve a shared challenge. The experience is especially relevant to:

  • Language and literacy

  • Mathematics and logical reasoning

  • Drama and role play

  • Media literacy and interpretation

  • Social-emotional learning

  • Leadership and group communication

  • Team-building and class community

Students leave with a shared accomplishment and a chance to reflect on how their group communicated, divided tasks, solved problems, and adapted when a first idea did not work.

A supervised indoor activity

Looking Glass Adventures is an indoor escape room venue with staff on site throughout each visit. Our staff facilitate the activity, explain the rules, monitor games, respond to questions, and support teachers and chaperones during the visit.

Teachers and chaperones remain responsible for student supervision, head counts, and school procedures. Looking Glass Adventures staff are responsible for operating the activity, supporting the group experience, and following venue safety procedures.

Our emergency documentation includes plans for evacuation, medical incidents, missing student response, and general crisis/safety situations.

What students do during the visit

Students are divided into small teams and enter themed game rooms. Each team works together to solve puzzles, find clues, unlock information, and complete the story objective before time runs out.

The activity is designed to be collaborative rather than physically demanding. Students may walk, stand, sit, read clues, handle light props, open unlocked drawers or boxes, and discuss ideas with teammates.

Students are not required to run, climb, crawl, lift heavy objects, or perform strenuous physical activity.

Accessibility and accommodation

Teachers are encouraged to contact us before booking to discuss accessibility, mobility, sensory, medical, communication, or support needs. Some game areas may include dim lighting, sound effects, themed props, theatrical elements, time pressure, or enclosed-room environments. We are happy to help teachers choose the most suitable rooms for their group whenever possible. Our facility is wheelchair accessible.
